Year 5 - 5W
Mrs Wong Class Teacher |
Welcome back to school to all our Year 5 children and families!
In Year 5, we follow the National Curriculum, using our ‘Open Curriculum’ approach that interweaves various subjects through overarching Concepts.
This term, our concept is Success, which will engage and captivate our young learners as we explore ‘How objective is it possible to be, when determining success?’
To support your child's reading development, your child will bring home a reading book for structured practise. We have a school expectation that children read at home at least three times a week. We recommend that children spend between ten and twenty minutes each day reading at home with an adult. If your child has difficulty completing the schools expectations of reading, please talk to me for support and advice.
Please remember that PE lessons are scheduled for Monday and Fridays. For safety reasons, please ensure that you remove earrings before participating in physical activities or parents can apply tape over earrings. Staff are not permitted to remove earrings. Additionally, labelling your child's uniform is crucial and children must bring a labelled water bottle in each day.
The Year 5W class staff are:
