Welcome to Year Six! Your child will be taught by Mrs Eckles (Monday-Wednesday) and Miss Perry (Thursday-Friday), supported by Miss Oczkowska. This year, the concept we will be studying is ‘Truth’, around the central enquiry: What is the value in truth? They will be exploring the theory of evolution, exploring the impact of fair trade, the art movements of Fauvism and Surrealism, and discussing the impact monarchs have on the country, with a particular focus on crime and punishment.

PE days are Monday and Thursday. We recommend the children bring in their PE kit on a Monday, and leave it at school until Friday.

Children should also be reading at home a minimum of 5 times a week, and this should be recorded in their reading record and signed by an adult. These should be brought into school daily, where the adults will monitor this.

A reminder that all uniform, including PE kit, should be named. No jewellery, except for studded earrings which are to be removed for PE, are to be worn. The school is also providing the children with all stationery they will require while in the classroom, so we ask that no pencil cases are sent in.

Please ensure that your child is sent with a water bottle each day, which is clearly named.

Finally, during Autumn Term we have two exciting trips booked. In October, the children will visit Norwich for a walking tour inspired by Horrible Histories, followed by a visit to Norwich Castle, which will support their History. We have also booked Norwich Theatre Royal in November to see world-renowned ‘The Northern Ballet Company’ perform their version of Cinderella.

In Spring Term, we have also booked Young Voices at the O2! More information on this will follow at a later date.
