Welcome from the Headteacher

Thank you for your interest in St. George's Primary School, we wish you a very warm welcome.

The talented team of St. George’s are all very ambitious for children to achieve and become the best they can be, and you will find your child making progress every day in many areas. This will include all academic subjects, sport and the creative arts, and we look forward to sharing their successes with you.

We have a holistic approach to education and want to include you as parents and carers as much as possible in your child’s school journey. For example, you will be invited to many parent and child learning opportunities, including spending lesson time with your child. You will also be invited to meetings designed to show you how to support your child with reading by our Reading Leaders and will receive invitations quite early in the new academic year. If there is any other area of school life you would like to know more about or participate in, please arrange to see myself or your child’s class teacher.

We have an excellent pastoral team at St. George’s and our Parent Support Advisor will always be happy to make a time to talk to you about issues you have outside of school. Our pastoral team has helped many families, so please just ring the school office to arrange an appointment if you need our help.

Excellent behaviour from children is paramount to the success of your child and other children. When learning, no one can concentrate if they are being disrupted. Therefore, if we are finding difficulties with your child’s behaviour we will contact you to discuss this, as our primary aim is for your child to achieve his or her full potential. You can find our behaviour policy on the school website.

More than anything we want your child to thrive and be happy within our school, and I can assure you we will be doing all we can to make this happen.

We look forward to meeting you and working with you.

With very best wishes
